No Screen Week, take 2

It is no screen week again. I've decided to follow our bishop's counsel this time. I do not want my computer destroyed! So, see you in a week!

Adventures in Breastfeeding!

It seems every time I sit down to nurse Rylan life gets a bit crazy. Having a one and three year old bouncing around makes it more of a challenge. They are always trying to hug, hold, kiss, and touch him.
One day I was sitting on my bed nursing and Reagan was into everything. I had stripped the sheets off the bed and they were in the washer. He found a bottle of lotion, opened it, and dumped it out on the mattress cover. I managed to get it away and scoop up as much of the lotion as I could while keeping the baby on!
Yesterday while I sat on my bed nursing, Aubryn sat next to me nursing her doll. It was sweet.
The other morning I sat in my bed, half asleep, nursing and out of the corner of my eye saw something black on my shoulder. It was an earwig!!!!!! I freaked and hit my self trying to kill it. Then I relaxed a little and another one (or the same one) came crawling up my side! Yikes!! But I am pround to say through all my freaking out, the baby stayed latched on! I have had a serious case of the heebie jeebies since then.

Nervous Wreck

Reagan insists on walking down the stairs like the rest of us. This scares me. There are 16 steps! One slip, yikes! And there is hard wood at the bottom. I knew he'd have to advance from sliding down on his belly someday. He's getting so big!

Attack of the killer bees

Brian, Brad, Reagan, some cousins, aunts, uncles, and Grandpas went on a "small" hike up waterfall canyon. They found an angry swarm of bees. Most ran through. I guess brad froze and cried. They got him good. But I'm not sure how many stings he got. His story gets crazier and crazier each time he tells it. But regardless, he got stung a lot. Poor kid.

EeeeewwwwwAhhhhh!!!

Did you see the Olympic weightlifting accident. OOOUUUUCCCHHHHH! Oh, don't watch. I can't get it ut of my head!

And what happened with the gymnastics scoring? What happened to the perfect ten? This 15.675 thing doesn't make any sense. And the tie breaker?? What? Anyone see that?

Is it just me?

So, these last few days of "taking it easy" I have watched more T.V. than I have all year. I have watched one thing, the Olympics. Here are a few things I have noticed.

  1. Bob Costas has looked the same since I was 10 years old.
  2. Gymnasts use way to many barrettes.
  3. Not very many women athletes have a chest. (I can notice that. I am a newly nursing mom again and very full!)
  4. How can those women play volleyball dressed like that??
  5. Bei-Jing or Bei-sching???
  6. Croatia is the land of mustaches. Every man on the water polo team from Croatia has a mustache. Even the coach.

A few favorites!

Aubryn is so happy to have a baby brother!
Today is my due date and it is the first time I haven't been pregnant on it! Yipee for me!

Brad was very interested and involved. He even helped cut the cord!
I really debated about posting this picture. It is right as the midwife placed Rylan on my chest. I posted it because I love the happiness on Brian's face at the moment of birth. Although, I'm not looking quite so happy at that moment. It was an awesome experience. So intimate and calm. It was powerful and beautiful.

In memory of...

Travis

There was a bad thunderstorm last night with lightning, thunder, and wind. When we woke up this morning Travis was gone. Aubryn says he blew away. I'm not sure. They were sad and went on a search and rescue mission, but came home without him. Poor kitty.
By the way, with a storm that bad, I was sad it did not put me into labor!

Another home visit

It is great to have a midwife that will come to my home for my prenatal check ups!!! No loading up the kids and waiting in the waiting room. She gets to come to my chaos! Yesterday while she was here it got a little crazy. First, the kids came home from a bike ride with Brian with a stray kitten. (NO!!!!!!!!!) They really want to keep it. They named it Travis within minutes and asked the midwife to check the gender, a boy! I really don't want a kitten right now. really. Anyone want it? It is cute and nice. please?!! PLEASE!!!
After the cat excitement settled down (but just a little), Aubryn walked in from the backyard with a heavily bleeding nose. Blood was all over her face and shirt. Brian, the midwife, and I all jumped up. She was right there offering her first aid skills.
Well, we did get the baby checked and all looks well. I am getting a bit annoyed when I check my blog and read the baby ticker that tells me, "I'm ready to come out!" Because apparently he's not quite ready to come out. But soon. We are almost done! Then the real adventure begins.

Some added up tags.

Here are two tags in one. I filled them out with the help of my insightful husband.

First one:

Post these rules on your blog. List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names.

3 Joys
1. Brian and children
2. Gospel
3. good health

3 Fears
1. losing Brian or children
2. bad health
3. earthquake

3 Goals
1. stronger testimony, like doing the little things more.
2. better wife
3. better mother

3 Obsessions
1. Brian says, "keeping the closet door closed."
2. ways to have the best birth experience
3. yard sales

Facts About Me
1. I've gained 40 lbs in the last 9 months
2. I would rather hire a personal chef for our family than a maid (I don't like to cook or even grocery shop)
3. I have double jointed thumbs

Second one:

Rules
Each player answers the questions themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answers.

Blessingway

Some friends came over last night and gave me a nice blessingway. A blessingway is a get together where women give "blessings" to the expecting mom. Not a blessing like you would get from a priesthood leader. It is more like a well-wish, a positive thought, an encouraging note to get you in the right mind set to go into labor and have your baby. It is a positive night of friendship. I appreciate the wonderful and encouraging thoughts and energy I received. Not to mention the yummy food and ice cream birthday cake(oh yeah!). And of course the chit chat and laughs.

Kids are home from the county fair with daddy.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
