At the cemetery where Isaac is buried they do a nice Memorial day program. It is staged around a pond. They go to a lot of work and have bag pipers, singers, and poems read. It is a nice Sabbath evening remembering those who died for our country and our own loved ones. Well, it is supposed to be a nice evening. Ours went more like this, "Put the stick down, don’t hit him!" "Stay here." "Stay by me, don’t go to close to the water." "Shhh, be quiet. Don’t yell." "Don’t tease that dog. Be nice to the dog. Don’t hurt the dog. You’re scaring the dog. Stop throwing rocks at the dog!" (And my kids wonder why I won’t let them have a pet of their own.) "Where’s Reagan? WHERE’S REAGAN?!!!"

I grabbed our blankets and threw them over my shoulder. I picked up Rylan and told Aubryn to come. Brad was peacefully enjoying the program like it was intended. So I left him and knew he would benefit from listening. Then I set out to find Reagan before the hundreds of people went to their cars and started driving. I circled around the pond and could not find him. I went back around the other way to see if he went back to the lady with the dog. He was not there and I kept walking. Looking. Stomach aching. I looked across the canal and saw him over in the graves. I walked over to the bridge and back to where he was. He was sitting by Isaac’s grave. How he found it, I do not know. Some ladies standing at a grave near by said they heard him walking around saying, "I need to find Isaac. Where is Isaac?"

I was relieved. I was touched that he was sitting by his brother’s grave. I set a blanket on the grass and sat down by Reagan. He asked me, "Mom, Is this Heaven?"

"No." I said.

He said, "Oh. I fought it was."

(That hour and a half was NOT heaven at all! But that moment was.)

Reagan said WHAT?

I went to the grocery store the other day and came home with a bag a yummy corn on the cob. Reagan saw it and said, "Did you buy porn on the top?"

I said, "What?!" Then I realized what he was talking about. I was really glad I didn't take him with me to the store.

"When I get big I want to be a daddy."

Kids!

At dinner tonight Rylan was dipping his tortilla chips in his cup of milk. I said something like, "That's gotta taste gross."

Brad looked up and saw what he was doing. He tipped his head down and shook his head back and forth. "Kids!" he said.

Another nice thing tonight was when Aubryn answered the phone. It was for Brian. Brian happened to be unclogging the toilet from when Reagan dumped half a roll of toilet paper in it. Aubryn told the caller, "Call back. We have a clogged toilet."

Elvis Is In The House

We just went to the Adult Special Needs Play at the church. What a treat! I admit I have a fear that they will see me and think I am supposed to be IN the play, not watching the play. One word, "PHEW!"

There was a man dressed as Elvis. He was really looking good. He had a wig, shiny gems on his outfit, and everything! He carried a picture of Elvis with him. He came up to us and showed us the picture. He was so happy. Then his leader saw him. She said, "Elvis?" He smiled really big and nodded. "Why are you dressed like Elvis?" He showed her the picture. She said, "Yes, that is Elvis, but why are you dressed like him!?" He just smiled.

The play was about President Monson’s life. Elvis really had nothing to do with the story or the man’s part in the play. When we got to the car Brad asked me, "Why was Elvis there?" No reason.

I can't figure out if I had a good weekend or a bad one.

Accomplishments in the last 3 days:
Made bread
Made homemade pizza
Went to the grocery store with three little kids
Washed laundry
Cut all 4 boys hair and I was interupted a minimum of 20 times per haircut
Taught Primary class about Joseph in Egypt
Rylan stayed in nursery for 10 minutes
Started my project/gifts for mother’s day
I didn’t cry

Set backs in the last 3 days:
Rylan fell down some stairs. Scrape.
Rylan fell off trike. Scrape.
Reagan stood on the side of the cart at the dollar store and it fell over with Rylan in it. Another scrape! Luckily the clerk came right over to help pick up the candy display we knocked over, never mind my kids.
Rylan dumped a whole box of rice crispies all over the kitchen (while I was giving a haircut)
Rylan walked into the glass door at church. He had a nice red mark on his forehead to go with his scrapes.
Put dinner in the oven before church, but forgot to turn on the oven.
