Kids Say the Greatest Things

Not far from here there is a gym for kids called "The Peak".  Kids at our elementary school often go there on field trips.  I'm glad I knew that before Aubryn came home from school the other day so excited and told me, "We get to go on a field trip!  We are going to The Peep!"

Rylan was looking at a picture of me today when I was his age.  He was thinking and asked if that was the house that I lived in.  It was.  Then he asked, "Mom, how did you grow up so fast? [pause]  Like, it's taking me a long time."

Brian took the kids to the safe kids fair a few weeks ago and they all came home with bags of "stuff".  One thing was a Frisbee with the words, "Spot the Tot" on them.  Reagan began reading it slowly sounding out each word. "Spot the toot", he said.

Rylan had Kindergarten round up  a couple weeks ago!  We were asking him what they did when they took the kids into the classroom and the parents stayed in the meeting.  Rylan told me that the teacher asked the kids if they were potty trained.  He said all the kids raised their hands.  I asked if he raised his hand.  "No," he said.
"Why not?" I asked.  Apparently he did not know that meant that you wear underwear and use the bathroom.  So he told me, "Next time I go to that class and the teacher asks who is potty trained I will raise my hand."

I told Rylan he was smart that day he went to Kindergarten round up and asked, "How'd you get so smart?"
"I ate a smarty at Bradly's grandma's." (a neighbor)

Reagan recently had a cough and raspy voice.  Not long after Wesley began sounding the same way.  "Reagan, you got Wesley sick." I said. "You can't get close to him when you aren't feeling well.  Do you hear how he sounds just like you did?"
He responded, "That's just because he likes copying me."

Rylan, Reagan, and Aubryn gave talks and read scriptures in church on Sunday.  They got to stand up in front of everyone and talk into the microphone.  Rylan was really close to the mic and you could hear him breathing really well. On the way home I told them each that they had done a good job.  When I told Rylan he said, "Dat was my breaf."
