Yesterday

This might not seem funny to anyone else, but it cracked me up. Aubryn left some Barbies in the family room. Rylan came in and sat by them. He picked one up and looked at her face for a long time then said, "Hewo(hello)!"

-

We ate dinner at the Founder's Day Salmon bake last night. A nice woman came and sat at our picnic table with her family. I told her she was brave. "Oh, I love kids she said." Then she struck up a great conversation with Reagan who was sitting across from her.

"I'm free(three) and I go in the potty now! I can go standing up!" He was so excited to share this with everyone. Then he hoped down from the table, ran around to her, and said, "Do you want to see... my shoes?!"

We were all relieved.

Hot Dog!!

I have been taking my kids to School lunch this summer. It is crazy, but I love it. No mess at my house. No wondering what to feed them all. And it is free!

Yesterday they were serving corn dogs. Reagan was eating his corn dog while looking around observing the caos. Then I hear, "HEY! There's a hot dog in here!"

No Nose

"Mom, I don't want a nose anymore."

That is what Reagan told me yesterday in the van while we were driving. I wanted to know why.

"So I don't have to pick it."

I tried to convince him that he does not have to pick his nose. He can keep it and not pick it. He wasn't sure about that. I mean, what are you supposed to do with all those boogers!?

Who dunnit?

We have had some crazy storms lately. The wind blows and the rain pours. Yesterday we had another. And just like the other storms my patio furniture blows all over. When Brian came home from work last night he saw the porch swing on it's side. He jokingly asked who knocked over the swing. Reagan, without a thought, said, "Rywan (Rylan) did it!"

Name Game

Reagan is really set on naming the baby Nemo. I asked him, "What if I don't name him Nemo. What if I name him... John?"

"John!? That's a weird name!"

The other day we took the kids to the library. When we were done we were standing outside. It was a nice night. I was visiting with a good friend that I hadn't seen forever when an Asian lady came up to me and asked me, "Ease dis da ood en ci ee lie bah ee?"

I looked at her and said, "I don't know."

Then my freind leaned over and said, "Yes."

The lady nodded and walked in the library. I hadn't understood what she said at all! Turns out she asked, "Is this the Ogden City Library?"

Boom Boom Boom!

I know a lot of the posts lately have included Reagan, but he is entertaining.

There is a thunder storm here tonight. Reagan heard the thunder and said, "I heaw (hear) a wocket (rocket)!"

I told him it was thunder.

When the thunder rolled again he said, "I heaw a giant in the mountain!"

-

Reagan had another dream about "U". I said, "Oh, the letter?"

"No! You, Mom!"

Big Appetite

"Mom, look at the giant sucker!" -Reagan
"Mom, look at the giant hot dog!" -Reagan

Yesterday Reagan was at the doctor. He is super friendly and has a conversation with everyone. The nurse came in to give him his shot. He was sitting on the exam table while she was prepping. He said, "We have a baby in my mom's tummy. When she pushes it our we are going to have a party. You can come! (POKE) Ouch. Ouch! OUCH! WHaaaaa!" I think he probably wanted to reconsider his invitation. This baby is due on Reagan's birthday. He has been inviting everyone to this "party". I hope he isn't terribly dissapointed when there is no party after the baby comes. I will make his birthday special and we will have cake. But a party? Not this year.

Reagan asked me if the baby can have cake. No.

"Can he have ice cream?"

"No."

I told him that he only needs mommy's milk. Aubryn was helpful enough to point out where that is located and said, "The milks in there."

Reagan looked at the area a little confused and asked, "Mom, are dows (those) the fridge?"

Recycle, Anjie Style

Today we had a yard sale at our house while at the same time I went shopping at yard sales. I have to support my habit. We sold everything for dirt cheap. We just wanted it gone. We told people they could fill a bag for a dollar. So, we didn’t make much money. The kids enjoyed it . Brad sold golf balls and Aubryn sold some of her toys. I think Brad made more money than Brian.

Later in the day I made my trip to the DI to drop off all the stuff that did not sell. Reagan went with me. He had just woken up from his nap. We visited while we drove. I asked how his nap was. He told me it was good. I asked if he had any good dreams. He told me he did. So I asked him what he dreamed about. He said, "You."

I said, "MEEE?!" in a high pitch voice.

He said, "No, not you. The letter U."

Then I asked him if he had a fun morning. He said, "Yeah."

I asked him what happened. He said, "I didn’t fall down the stairs."

Then he asked me if we were almost to the DI and if we were going to sleep there.

Memorial Day

We drove to Salt Lake City. First we made a stop to IKEA. We enjoyed our lunch while looking out over the parking lot. We watched people and played, "They’ll never fit that in their car!" and "Can they carry all their stuff to the car without dropping anything because the store does not provide bags!"

We went to the SLC cemetary and looked for Prophet’s graves. We also found some other names we recognized.

Rylan had a diaper blowout. Now he is pantless.

After the cemetary, we went to Lindsey Park. I don't think my kids have ever seen a merry-go-round. They loved it.

While we were there, I remembered walking to that park with Brian when we were dating. At the park some 13 years ago, a couple came to the park with their young children. I watched them play and thought, "That could be us some day." Now it is! And now those young kids are teenagers.

At Brigham Young's grave.
