Brad's Eagle Project!

This last picture is Isaac using something similar to what was made for Brad's Eagle Project.  For Brad's project we made these things out of PVC pipe.  They are for the infant program at the Deaf and Blind School.  We talked to Margaret, who was Isaac's vision helper, and she came over and gave Brad several ideas.  Brad chose to make these.  The parents keep these at their homes and hang items that will help the child learn to reach for them and explore.  Isaac loved yarn balls and mylar paper.  Parents can individualize what would work best for their vision impaired or blind baby.  When Isaac was here on earth going to the toy isle trying find him something to play with was a sad thing because NONE of those toys were ideal for him or worked for him at all.  We learned to make things that he enjoyed.  We learned to think outside the box.  Brad's Eagle Project made 30 of these items and thinking of the 30 babies that will use them gives me a lump in my throat.  Brad was very organized and did a great job!
