Whistling

Brad has learned how to whistle. Which is quite impressive to me, considering I have yet to figure it out. I can't seem to get it. Sometimes I am not so happy that he has this new habit, like when the baby is sleeping. But, at the same time, no one whistles when they are sad. It's like a dog wagging his tail. If your child is whistling then you know life is good for them.

Today around 11:00 the phone rang. I said, "hello."

"Hi, Mom. I don't feel good."

Brad doesn't like missing school. We went and picked him up. He went straight to the bathroom. I heard the water running. He was in the bathtub. Every once in a while I would check on him. I could hear water running every half hour or so. About 4 hours later I heard the water draining. And, I heard whistling.

What did you learn?

After scripture study tonight, Brian asked the big question, "What did you learn?"
Brad replied, "To eat, drink, and get married."

Fall Photos, part 4- KIDDING!

Really, The fall photos could go on and on! I took 226 photos that day. But enough is enough.

I have a hunch about Aubryn. I think she has a crush. There is a boy in our ward at church that she talks about all the time. Almost every day! She calls him by his first and last name, never just his first name. Here are a few things she has said about him. (I'll protect his identity and call him "Chilin' Rimrock")

"I saw Chilin' Rimrock at church today. I saw him looking at me. (sheepish grin)"

"Chilin' Rimrock was at the church. I was by him and he touched me. right here. (points to top of her arm) His hair was sticking up."

"Can Chilin' Rimrock come to our house? Why you never let him?!" This is when she folds her arms and walks away in a huff. (So if you're out there, "Chilin' " come over lift her sad heart!)

"I like Chilin' Rimrock. I like his hair."

The other day at Pack meeting I thought she was going to be so excited to see him she would pester him to death. But for the first time EVER I saw a shy side of Aubryn. She watched him. She did not smother. But, she was very aware. It's just nice to find out that she CAN focus on one thing for more than 10 minutes.

Into Aubryn's mind, kind of.

"Mom, Do you know what I like? I like make-up, boys, princesses, Dora, and Carebears."

"I don't want to get big. I don't want to grow up or be big like a boy or a mom. I just want to be a doctor."

"Is my hand scary? Spider man doos it." (holding hand all mangled like.)

Swollen Heart

My heart is especially full today and I am not sure why. After church this morning we walked around a beautiful park. The autumn colors were vibrant. My children were running and exploring. They were curious and creative. My husband would run with them, come push the stroller, then put his arm tenderly around me. It was almost too good to be true, like a wonderful dream. I am so full of love for my family. I am so grateful. My heart feels swollen inside and my throat has a lump in it. (although that could be the stupid sore throat I have.) I love my life! I am not sure why I have been so fortunate. I have a fear deep inside me that I could loose this bliss in an instant. I tell myself to enjoy! It could be gone tomorrow. I have hard time putting these feelings into words. But, maybe you get just a glimpse inside my full heart.

Fall Fun!
