I want it

Aubryn is fun to take shopping. She wants everything. If it sparkles, is shiny, or has a princess on it, she is really drawn to it. I hear things like, "I need it!" "I don't have this." "It's my size."(it's usually not)
Today in the dollar store she saw all kinds of princess stuff. She was throwing it in the cart.
Brian said, "Do you have money to pay for this, Aubryn?"
"Yes." she said.
"Are you sure?" Brian asked.
"Yes." she said.
"Where is it?" he asked.
"In your pocket." she said.

A boy

I thought I would tell you how my family reacted to the news that the baby was a boy.
Wednesday morning Aubryn woke up and came in my bed. I told her, "Today we get to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl."
She said, "It's a boy and we are going to name him Ning." (yikes, what a name.)
Brad was at school. I called the school and asked the secretary to give him the message, "It's a boy." After school he told me she called his classroom on the intercom and said, "Tell Brad that it's a boy." He said, "I thought she was telling me I was a boy." He figured it out.
I asked Brian if he was suprised and he said he was to busy chasing Reagan around the ultrasound room.

Lyrics

The song says, "I am a child of God... with parents kind and dear."
Aubryn sings, " I am a child of God... with parents kind of dear."

The song says, "Book of Mormon stories that my teacher tells to me. Are about the Lamanites in anchient history. Long ago their father came from far across the sea..."
Aubryn sings, "... Long ago their fathers came from far across the street."

The song says, "Blessed assurance..."
Brad says, "Lets sell insurance..."

I remember when I was younger there was a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival and I would sing, "There's a bathroom on the right." Pretty sure the song says, "There's a bad moon on the rise." But it sounds like bathroom!!

Boy or Girl??

We hope to find out Wednesday the 26th if the baby is a boy or girl. Anyone want to make a guess? Brad and Aubryn are sure it is a boy. Brian and I are leaning toward a girl. It's always fun to find out. So, all two or three of you who read this, make a guess!

10 years!!

This month ten years ago, Brian and I went on our first date!! We went to a Grizzley hockey game. And if I remember right he had me home by 10:00! It is amazing to think we've been together that long. Who knew all that we would experience together. He is an amazing person to me. He has strong character. He has amazing faith and such a positive attitude about life. I rarely hear him complain about anything. He finds the good in people and situations. He has held me up when things were too difficult for me. He knows just what to say to calm my nerves. He rubs my shoulders when they are tense. He helps around the house. He likes playing and reading to the kids. He loves spending time with us. He's pretty good looking too. I still look forward to him coming home every day. I know the kids do too.

He is Strong in Spirit. I remember after Isaac died. We were both in so much pain. He had the courage to speak at his funeral. I had never been so in love with him. He did a wonderful job.

I love him.

Family Home Evening

I'm wondering if those pictures they use in church that show a family during FHE are realistic to anyone. Are we the only ones that don't look like that? We decided to have a lesson on being reverent. ha ha ha. Within the first minute Aubryn shoots off the sofa like a she was flung from a sling shot. Our kids have been getting worse and worse during Sacrement meeting. So this week we are having practice time each day where they sit quietly. We'll see if this helps. Any other ideas?? I'm not sure what has gotten into the kids.
By the way, Brian looked hansome this evening. I can say whatever I want about him on here because I know he doesn't read this.

Global Warming?

Or just Spring time? Whatever it is, the iceberg around my house has melted and my kids LOVE playing outside! We need to get our backyard in and a fence as soon as possible. Although, I am getting lots of exersize chasing Reagan. That can't be bad. Our neighbor has a swingset and hung the swings today. The kids love swinging. We plan on getting our own swingset soon. It will be fun!

sleep tight take 2

Ahh, look at her fall asleep clenching her toothbrush in her mouth.
(really, it was hard to get out.)
So, I'm taking Aubryn to "Princess on Ice" this Thursday. I made the mistake of telling her today. Four days to early. She keeps asking if we are going now... now? "They are waiting for us! We're going to miss them!" I mean, non stop. She has no concept of time. NO CONCEPT! I really tried my best to explain it to her and in several different ways. Also, she asks,"what?" a lot. (I think we need to have her checked, honest.) So after hours of constant crying and whining about going I said, "You are going to drive me bonkers."
"What?"
"You are going to drive me bonkers."
"What?"
(okay, Imagine this continues at least 10 more times.)
I got louder and louder. She came closer and closer.
By this time I yelled,"YOU'RE DRIVING ME BONKERS!"
She said, "Oh. Bonkers. What's bonkers?"

sleep tight

Ahh, Look at her fall asleep with her metal magnet box.

What's in your mouth?

Today I saw Aubryn chewing something.
I asked her what was in her mouth.
She opened her mouth wide to show me but I couldn't see anything.
Then she looked at me very calmly and said, "A booger."
I said, "Ewe! We don't eat boogers. That's gross."
"Can I have a Princess treat?" She asked.
From one extreme to the other. Ulgh! Yuck!

Little Angels??

It seems my kids have been walking around in disguise this week. They look like sweet angels, but they've been more like little devils! They are doing better yesterday and today. A few days ago Aubryn didn't want to eat her dinner. She got down and headed to the pantry for a treat. When I told her no treat if she didn't eat her dinner, she turned and yelled, "Whatever! Whatever Mom!" Wow. I'd never seen her or heard her do that. Time for time out. That bench got lots of use this last week. It's been on break the last few days, thank goodness.
I've been doing some furniture shopping. I've been price matching. It's amazing how much some places charge. Hopefully I will have furniture in my living room before much longer. But there really is no hurry. I just feel like I want my house in order before the baby comes.
