We went to the ATK recently to watch them test a rocket motor they are building for NASA. See that here. We enjoyed some bubble gum while we waited for the test and listened to the engineers on the radio.

The rocket motor is the white horizontal line on the right. It is set up so that the fire ( or whatever the stuff is called that comes out of the motor) will hit the mountain side. I'm not sure what they use to stabilize the motor from moving.
30 seconds after ignition. (imagine rumbling and the ground shaking)
All done, we are driving away. It ignited for 2 minutes. We checked Brad out of school to see this. He said, "I'm going to miss science!" I'm pretty sure no teacher could do an experiment in class as cool as this.
